I am looking for answers. - Should I be a vegetarian?
Here are some questions to ask yourself to answer the question, Do I want to be a vegetarian?
I've eaten meat and animal products my whole life, so, why change to a vegetarian diet?
How is my general health? Is my blood pressure always lower than 120 over 80 (without my blood pressure medication)? How about cholesterol and blood sugar? Maybe I should consider what I eat every day.
How do I feel?
How do I feel after eating? Do I feel energized, as if I've given my body what it needs? Or do I feel tired and drug out? How often do I feel like I need a nap after eating? Is that what food is supposed to do for me, make me tired and sleepy?
The vegetarian food advocates say our food should nourish and feed the body and leave us energized and refreshed. The human body is a machine and needs fuel that keeps it running in peak condition. When we’re fat, with high blood pressure, Type II diabetes, high cholesterol and other unhealthy conditions, it’s like a car engine that hasn’t been tuned or isn’t running on the optimal type of fuel it needs to run efficiently. It needs the right kind of fuel to run at peak performance, and when you’re eating high-fat meat, or meat that’s been fed antibiotics throughout its life, that’s simply not the kind of fuel the human body wants to run on.
